The concept of mountains nailing down the surface of the Earth originates in an ancient Arab myth about the flat Earth being nailed to the back of a huge fish.
Actually, mountains are like floating icebergs, and their “roots” do not prevent tectonic plates from crashing into each other.
Zakir Naik misquotes from geology books, and quotes from a book about miracles in the Quran.
A hadith explains that the mountain Qāf has roots under every city on Earth, and will shake a root to cause an earthquake when ordered to do so by Allah. Another hadith says Mount Qāf is so bright blue it is the reason why the sky is blue.

Mir Aneesuddin interpreted Quran verse 79:30 as spreading of continents caused by continental drift.
Edip Yüksel claims Quran verse 27:88 about mountains moving on Judgement Day is a revelation of scientific facts about plate tectonics.
Quran verse 30:3 does not reveal that the Dead Sea is the lowest place on Earth.
The Arabic word means “nearer place”, not “lowest place”.

The Quran does not give much detail about what was created on each of the 6 days of creation. The hadiths of al-Tabari explain that trees were created on Day 4, Animals on Day 5, but light from the sun, moon and stars was not created until Day 6. There are many interpretations of how long these days were. Some say a thousand years. Others say billions of years.
The biggest conflict with science is that trees were created long before there was light. Another problem is that al-Tabari explains that the trees were created before the animals, but scientists say that there were huge ferns, but no trees at the time of the dinosaurs.

Quran verse 21:16 and other verses say that Allah created the heavens and the Earth and everything between them.
Although some have claimed this is a revelation about interstellar matter, more likely this verse refers to angels.

Quran verse 21:32 is about angels preventing jinn from entering heaven. Bijan Moeinian mistranslated that verse as describing the ozone layer protecting the Earth.
Hadiths quote the prophet Mohammed as saying mend clothing instead of throwing it away, plant fruit trees, and do not waste water.
Mohammed said do not urinate in the supply of drinking water.
Quran verse 13:41 is about reducing the amount of land governed by non-Muslims. The verse is not about rising sea levels reducing the amount of land.

The Arabic word in Quran verse 79:30 that means “flat”, or the “flat place” where an ostrich lays its egg, was mistranslated by Rashad Khalifa to mean “shaped like an ostrich egg”. Actually, the Earth is nearly spherical, bulging only slightly at its equator but an ostrich egg is an entirely different shape that is elongated.
Nurri & Hoque, in their footnote to Quran verse 21:30, interpreted “were once joined” to match a theory by scientist Alastair Cameron that the Earth was spun off from the sun.
Edip Yüksel interpreted “When Judgement comes by night or day” in Quran verse 10:24 to mean that Judgement Hour will arrive when half of the Earth is in darkness and the other half of the Earth is in light (revealing that the Earth is round).

Ancient Mesopotamian people knew about the freshwater sea and saltwater sea off the coast of what is now Bahrain, and invented myths to explain why the waters did not mix.
The Quran gives the explanation as maḥjūran, which means forbidden by Allah.
Actually, the waters do slowly mix, but appear to not mix because fresh water from the underground rivers of the Arabian aquifer replenish the fresh water, and push the brackish mixed water away from the coast. The verse is not about the interaction between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Quran verse 24:43 provides an accurate and detailed description of the formation of a thunderhead. as seen by an observer on the ground watching the storm clouds.
Quran verses 86:11-12 mentions precipitation but make no mention of evaporation.

In 1861, Church of England clergyman John Medows Rodwell was inaccurate in his translation of Quran verse 24:43, substituting “charged with hail” for “hiding hail”.
Unless you were the person who added acid to the battery at the telegraph office, you would not have interpreted “charged” to be about electricity. Its 1861 meaning was loading a cannon with gunpowder and a cannonball.
Some Muslim websites now claim the verse reveals the recently discovered scientific fact that hail gives an electrical charge to clouds. Continue reading CHARGED WITH HAIL IN THE QURAN

Quran verse 6:125 contains a phrase about Allah constricting a man’s chest as though he were climbing into the sky. The Arabic word means climbing, not sitting or standing.
The meaning of the phrase is that climbing a tall sand dune makes you out of breath,
This verse is misinterpreted on some Muslim websites as proof that Allah, not the prophet Mohammed, wrote the Quran, because the prophet Mohammed could not have known that standing on a mountaintop makes you out of breath because the air is thin at high altitudes.
