QUILTING

Actually, Wikipedia says quilted garments were produced in Egypt in 3400 BC.
Quilting was also done in ancient times in China and Mongolia.

Shawls were invented by the ancient Assyrians.

Stuffed mattresses were used in ancient Rome.
