Quran verses 18:95-97 is an exaggerated telling of either of 2 false legends about Alexander The Great building a wall or gate to keep out the Gog and Magog barbarians. Actually both structures were built by pre-Islamic Persians, not by Alexander The Great.
The verses 18:95-97 claim that the wall is made of iron covered with copper. Iron is stronger but rusts. Copper does not rust, instead forming a green protective layer.
This is not a miracle Quran revelation of copper technology unknown at the time of Mohammed, but a technology known by many ancient civilizations, including the Romans
